Another season means a different skin care regimen. You might not believe it’s important to review your products as the weather starts to change, but I can tell you that your skin has seasonal demands. And if you’re in your 30s, you need a skin care regimen that is geared toward fighting the signs of early aging, environmental damage, and overall stress signals that are associated with this stage of life. As a beauty editor, it has taken me about ten years to develop a new beauty regimen that is effective for my complexion. I think I’ve finally succeeded, or at least my dermatologist and esthetician seem to think so. Skin Care Routine For 30s Sensitive Skin.

Colder weather that comes with fall is good for keeping your possibly congested and sun-damaged post-summer skin hydrated, but annoying things like dry air and dropping temps can mess with your skin. Calming and relaxing products are your best friend for these kinds of problems. I also start to replace my light summer moisturizer with an emollient-rich cream to hydrate and smooth my face, followed by some SPF and a little oil if my cheeks and chin need additional occlusive layer.

Use a robust antioxidant like vitamin C and reapply your SPF throughout the day to keep your skin protected if you’re also battling with dark spots and melasma as a result of all that summer sun exposure.

Is this routine a little too demanding? Perhaps. However, I can guarantee you that the best “anti-aging” defense is consistency in a regimen that works for your skin if you want to keep your skin healthy, looking, and feeling despite the change in seasons (and your declining collagen levels).

Check out what new products and methods have made it into my daily beauty lineup if you’re a fellow 30-something who wants to revamp your skin care regimen for the fall.

Best Skin Care Routine For 30s Sensitive Skin That Actually Works

Step 1: Clean up the oil

I usually wake up with a very bloated face and no cheekbones to be found since I’m soaking up the last of the pleasant weather outside activities with lots of meals and beverages with friends. In order to battle this, I begin each day with a facial massage that lasts at least five minutes, using either my hands or a Gua Sha tool, to move around the static lymph fluid and aid in the drainage of all the puffiness. I follow that by rinsing with cold water and drying with a fresh towel (the ones from Baina are my favorite).

I was shocked! I discovered a way to enjoy my morning coffee and fight the extra weight that was keeping me from seeing myself the way i wish!

What I love about it is that it is natural, Vegetarian, Non-GMO, Gluten free... Perfect for everyday use!

I felt a boost in my metabolism and amazingly, I didn't feel that much hungry as before!

This oil cleanser has a wonderful texture that makes me feel as though my skin is being puffed out and fluffed as I use it. If I still have any leftover irritation, the calming sunflower seed and grapeseed oils are also fantastic. For additional slip, keep it on while massaging your face. After, rinse it off, and carry on with the remainder of your skincare regimen.

Step 2: Gel Cleanser, see On Peach & Lily

Since I wear heavier makeup in the fall and am still dealing with some summer build-up, I usually need a two-step cleanse before applying more serums. While the weather is still reasonably warm, I like a gel-textured cleanser to get my skin clean without any of that dry, squeaky, or uncomfortable sensation. In the winter, I’ll use a cream cleanser.

I’m steadfastly committed to this rosehip seed oil, prickly pear oil, and ashwagandha-rich cleanser from Dr. Chaneve Jeanniton, a renowned dermatologist in New York, because my skin tends to be more sensitive. My skin is left calm, clear, and comfortable for the remainder of my routine thanks to the combination of antioxidants and calming fatty acids.

Step 3 of On Epi.Logic is titled Essence.

No of the season, I always apply an essence to give my skin a hydration boost. And because I’m in my 30s, I search for products with additional anti-aging advantages to reduce fine wrinkles and battle hyperpigmentation for a uniform tone throughout. When using this, don’t forget about your neck and décolleté. You should also apply any extra to the backs of your hands, which are rarely given enough attention when it comes to skin care.

The additional nutrition from the company’s renowned Miracle Broth is like a magic eraser for my skin because it smoothed out fine wrinkles, moisturized dry patches, and revived dull complexions. I think it’s worth the extra money, especially if you’re over 30.

Step 4: Hyaluronic Acid Serum, as seen on Sephora

When you’re in your 30s, can you tell that dampness is the name of the game? Not only is dry skin extremely painful, but it also draws attention to small wrinkles and generally gives you a lifeless appearance. Therefore, I always include a hyaluronic acid serum in my routine (which attracts water into the skin). I apply one pump to my face, neck, and décolleté once my essence is almost dry for a beautiful, juicy finish.

Many HA serums have a very watery feeling, but this formulation has a little more substance and is particularly cushiony. Once it has dried down, your skin feels insanely plumped, as though you have just downed a gallon of water. It takes a minute. Simply make sure that your skin is still slightly damp so that it can absorb the water and effectively hydrate.

Step 5: Vitamin C Serum (See On Facile Skin)

As you age, black spots rise to the top of your list of skin concerns. Vitamin C is an essential daily antioxidant for preventing free-radical damage and reducing hyperpigmentation (from either sun exposure or after battling a breakout). Just be sure to give your selected formula enough time to dry down before going on to your next step, as adding another product too soon will affect its potency and exposure to sunlight can cause the mixture to break down. If you can help it, avoid hurrying through your skin care routine because patience is a virtue.

The airtight pump on this container and the fact that it was produced at a facility used by NASA to reduce the formula’s interaction with oxygen mean that you are definitely getting your money’s worth considering how infamously unstable vitamin C is. To reduce free radical damage, remove dark spots, and maintain an even skin tone, I apply a dime-sized amount to my face, neck, and décolleté.

Please go to Protocol Step 6: Eye Cream.

I’m aware that some individuals won’t bother with eye cream and will happily slather their moisturizer all over their face, but I’m a strong advocate for using something made specifically for the most sensitive skin on your face. Just be careful not to tug or press too firmly around your eyes; instead, be gentle as you tap in the mixture and wait until it dries.

Although getting a facial from Pietro Simone is a spiritual experience, I usually use this eye cream to lift and firm my eye area when I can’t go to him for a treatment. Darutoside, the active component, targets skin laxity and reduces crow’s feet for a brighter, smoother, and more youthful appearance. I apply it on my lid and down to my orbital bone using one pea-sized amount for each eye.

7th step: moisturizing

Although the typical SPF contains emollient (moisturizing and softening) chemicals, you should not forego this procedure if you are in your 30s. I enjoy using a very simple, clinically tested moisturizer to keep my face and neck calmed and supple throughout the day because hydrated skin is happy skin. After my serums have dried, I massage in a quarter-sized amount and wait around five minutes before continuing with my routine.

Dieux Skin’s moisturizer meets up to the hype (the brand’s Deliverance serum is also a part of my nighttime ritual). Phytosterols, fatty acids, ceramides, glycerin, urea, squalane, and sodium PCA are just a few of the moisturizers in the formula that will leave your skin feeling incredibly soft and glossy. Despite being a rich moisturizer, there isn’t any of the heaviness that can make your pores feel clogged or oily; instead, there is a silky finish that will have onlookers asking what you’ve been using on your face.

Step 8: Oil in On Dieux Skin

If “slugging” is something you’re familiar with, you already know that an occlusive product can assist to reduce water loss in the skin and lock in moisture. Fall temperatures can be erratic, so I like to use a thin layer of my preferred facial oil both morning and night to prevent dry areas.

My go-to oil has been this for a long time. This composition is free of essential oils, parabens, sulfates, preservatives, and artificial fragrance, and is filled with omega fatty acids 6 and 9 to nourish your skin. Anyone who is sensitive to a lot of active botanicals can use it without worrying. If the fact that I’ve gone through roughly five bottles over the years doesn’t demonstrate how important it is to my routine, the glow it provides my skin will.

9. Apply sunscreen

If I’ve said it once, I’ll say it a thousand more times: if you don’t use SPF every single day, your “anti-aging” efforts are useless. If you’re prone to melasma as I am, it’s important to find a formula that works well with your skin, is comfortable, and doesn’t leave a white cast (because only a mineral or physical SPF can prevent those dark patches from appearing). You’ll thank yourself in 10, 15, or more years from now when your skin is still strong, healthy, and youthful-looking. And if your skin care budget just allows for a few items, prioritize your sunscreen investment above everything else (although quality formulas are available at a range of price points).

Even though I’ve always loved Tatcha, this new SPF has me swooning. The SPF 50 is high enough to prevent the sun’s rays even on my melasma spots, and the creamy texture gives you such a bright glow and smooth finish. Hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, two moisturizing ingredients that also reduce inflammation, are included for a multifaceted skin care boost. I use a dime-sized amount on my hands and forearms and a half-dollar-sized amount on my face, ears, neck, and décolleté. Remember to reapply sunscreen every few hours to keep your protection from the sun.
