The 10-Stage Korean Skincare Routine has recently gained popularity, and one Danish retailer even has a 10-Step Korean Skincare Routine display with recommended goods for each step. The majority of the products, however, are for normal, dry, or all skin types, not oily skin. I made the decision to look for items that would work for my skin type and to investigate if the 10-step Korean skincare program would be beneficial for oily acne-prone skin. korean skin care routine for oily skin

There are numerous advantages to having a Korean skincare regimen, and Simply Woman Magazine has a terrific article on the Top 7 Reasons to Try a Korean Skincare Routine, and I was eager to try new skincare products that were tailored to my specific requirements. Furthermore, all of the items I used in these stages are cruelty-free, and some of them contain natural ingredients, such as those found on Serenity Store. With the exception of step 10, which I only utilize in the morning, I follow these instructions in the morning and evening.

Definitive Guide On Korean Skin Care Routine For Oily Skin You Should Know

Step 1: Cleanse with an Oil-Based Base

Murad Acne Control Clarifying Cleanser and Matas Micellar Water
The first two steps of the Korean skincare routine are to double cleanse, with the oil-based cleanser being the first. Matas Micellar Water is what I use for regular skin because they only make micellar water for normal, dry, or sensitive skin. I use the micellar water to a reusable cotton round or a MakeUp Eraser and remove all of my makeup if I’m wearing any on that particular day. If I’m not wearing makeup, I’ll use the cotton round to wipe my entire face. Micellar water is a convenient and effective way to remove makeup, grime, and grease.

Step 2: Cleanse with water

A water-based cleanser is used for the second part of the double cleanse to ensure that all of my makeup is removed and my face is clean. I use the Murad Acne Control Clarifying Cleanser, which is designed for acne-prone skin, as the name implies. Wetting my face, applying the cleanser to my fingertips, massaging the cleanser all over my face, and lastly washing with water is how I use the cleanser. In terms of my personal preferences, I enjoy using the Murad cleanser because it contains salicylic acid and leaves my skin feeling clean while also helping to treat acne.

Exfoliate in the third step (1-2 times a week)

Acnedote Face & Body Scrub by Alba Botanica
The next step is to exfoliate after you’ve completed the double cleanse. However, you should only use an exfoliator 2 or 3 times a week because exfoliating every day might harm your skin and produce dryness, irritation, and redness. The Alba Botanica Acnedote Face & Body Scrub is something I use twice a week, generally in the middle and towards the end of the week. The scrub is gentle but effective, including salicylic acid to aid with acne.

Toner (Step 4)

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner from The Body Shop
After that, you’ll need to use a toner. The Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner from The Body Shop is ideal for oily skin. I use a reusable cotton round to apply the toner and wipe it all over my face, avoiding the eye area. The toner cleans up any leftovers from the double cleanse and exfoliant, as well as prepares my skin for the next steps. I let the toner dry before moving on to the next stage.

Step 5: Emphasis

The usage of essence is the only step out of the ten that I do not follow. Because the major function of an essence is to deliver more moisture and hydration, I haven’t found any essences that are useful for oily acne-prone skin. Karen recommends The Body Shop Intensely Revitalising Essence Lotion for dry or mature skin in her Skincare For Women Over 50: The Body Shop Oils of Life post.

I was shocked! I discovered a way to enjoy my morning coffee and fight the extra weight that was keeping me from seeing myself the way i wish!

What I love about it is that it is natural, Vegetarian, Non-GMO, Gluten free... Perfect for everyday use!

I felt a boost in my metabolism and amazingly, I didn't feel that much hungry as before!

The serum is the sixth step.

Vitamin C Repair Serum by Balance Me
Following the tea tree toner, I apply the Balance Me Vitamin C Repair Serum, which is appropriate for all skin types. My skin feels hydrated when I apply the serum to my fingers and distribute it all over my face. I’m currently using the Repair Serum, although I’ve previously used the Balance Me Congested Skin Serum, which I’d like to repurchase after this one is finished. The Congested Skin Serum performs a good job of controlling oiliness while not drying out the skin.

Step 7: Mask (sheet, mud, or peel-off) (1 time a week)

Moisturizing Sheet Mask Masque Me Up
A sheet mask is advised once a week in the conventional 10-step routine, however sheet masks aren’t very good for helping oily acne-prone skin. Sheet masks are ideal for both normal and dry skin types since they hydrate, moisturize, and brighten the skin rapidly. If my face feels a little dry, I’ll apply a sheet mask, but that hasn’t been the case recently. Other masks, such as a mud mask or a peel-off mask, are recommended for oily skin. The Lush Mask of Magnaminty is my all-time favorite mask to use since it exfoliates, decreases redness, and controls oiliness. Montagne Jeunesse/7th Heaven mud masks and peel-off masks are also favorites of mine.

Eye Cream (Step 8)

Banana Bright Eye Creme by Ole Henriksen
I apply an eye cream after applying the Balance Me serum. When it comes to my under-eye area, the biggest issue I have is dark circles. I’ve been using Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Creme, which helps with dark circles, fine lines, and wrinkles. The eye cream also prepares the under-eye area for concealer, which is ideal on days when I apply makeup.

Moisturizer (Step 9)

Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion from The Body Shop
I go on to the following stage, which is a moisturizer, after the serum and eye cream have been absorbed into my skin. The Body Shop Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion for the day and the Wheesht Balancing Day Cream for the night have been my go-to moisturizers recently. The Body Shop lotion is light and hydrating, and it helps to keep my skin oil-free. Mask acne can be avoided by using a moisturizer because it lowers irritation while using a mask. The Wheesht cream has a thicker consistency, making it ideal for evening use. The cream is suitable for all skin types, but especially for oily skin, and it can be used in the mornings and evenings, despite the name.

Step ten: Apply sunscreen

The SPF 15 Matas Natur Face Sunscreen
When it comes to the final step, I just apply sunscreen in the morning. Matas Natur Facial Sunscreen with SPF 15 protects against UVA and UVB radiation, which I use. Hyaluronic acid has been added to the sunscreen to hydrate the skin and decrease wrinkles. The sunscreen is lightweight and easy to apply to my face and neck thanks to the pump. Because Matas is a Danish pharmacy brand, I recommend reading Ebun & Life’s piece on the 18 Best Drugstore Sunscreens for sunscreen recommendations for all skin types.

Last Thoughts

Overall, I believe that adhering to a ten-step Korean skincare routine has improved my skin. Because I’m performing a double cleanse, which I did before starting this practice, but now I’m also using a tea tree toner, my skin seems clearer. Because I’m utilizing numerous products that are appropriate for my skin type, my face appears less oily and I have fewer pimples.

Furthermore, although the weather is currently warming up, my skin might become drier in colder temperatures, and I have not encountered any dryness as a result of using the serum and moisturizer. I’ve also been using an exfoliator on a daily basis, as well as mud masks and peel-off masks, which have all benefited my face. Finally, while these products have shown to be successful for me, everyone’s skin is different. Even if you have the same skin type as mine, you might not get the same results with the products I use.
