For oily skin, the best skincare routine is
Cleanse both during the day and at night.
Exfoliate your skin twice a week at night.
At night, apply actives to your skin.
Moisturize at all times of the day and night.
Every day, use SPF.

“Having oily skin might be healthy!” Shah claims. Working with your skin type is the key.

1. Wash your face twice a day, in the morning and at night.

Cleanse your skin before going to bed to get rid of the muck that has accumulated over the day. Even though your skin appears to be flawless, you should always wash your face first thing in the morning.

Your skin sheds skin cells and generates oils while you sleep. This may cause a breakout and make your skin appear greasy.

2. Exfoliate

Exfoliating is a great approach to get rid of clogged pores by removing oil, dirt, and dead skin cells. Shah suggests using a chemical exfoliant like Paula’s Choice 2 percent BHA Liquid Exfoliant, which is a fan favorite.

Chemical exfoliants use active chemicals like alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) and beta hydroxy acid to remove dead skin cells (BHA). Glycolic acid is an AHA that is beneficial for oily skin. Salicylic acid is included in oily-friendly BHAs.

Just make sure you don’t overdo it and only exfoliate once or twice a week. Exfoliating too much might cause dry, red, or irritated skin. Exfoliate at night because some substances make you more susceptible to sunburn.

3. Use the treatment

Shah suggests Paula’s Choice 1 percent Retinol as a retinol product.
